India's GDP growth forecast projected at 7% in FY27 by S&P

(23-Sep-26   12:57)

S&P Global Ratings has revised upward its GDP growth forecast for India’s current fiscal year to 7 per cent, underpinned by resilient economic momentum, and anticipates a potential 25 basis point interest rate increase by the Reserve Bank of India in FY27. According to S&P’s Economic Activity for Asia Pacific report, consumer price inflation is projected to average 5.1 per cent in FY27. India’s economy demonstrated stronger-than-anticipated expansion, registering a 7.8 per cent growth rate in the June quarter. S&P attributes this performance to factors including vigorous industrial output, solid consumer spending, robust merchandise exports, and accelerating government investment.
