HDFC Life Insurance Reappoints Vibha Padalkar as MD and CEO for 5 Years

(22-Apr-26   09:51)

This decision was taken during a Board meeting held on Tuesday, following a recommendation by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Padalkar's new tenure will come into effect on September 12, 2026, and will continue for five years. In a regulatory filing, the company stated that this reappointment is subject to the approval of shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), as well as the clearance of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).

This move serves as a measure to ensure leadership continuity at HDFC Life, one of India's largest private life insurance companies.

Padalkar has been at the helm of HDFC Life since 2018; having been associated with the company since 2008, she has held various key leadership positions over the past two decades.

In its filing, the company highlighted Padalkar's significant contribution in helping the organization achieve several key milestones, including its listing on the stock exchanges in 2017.

As the company navigates a highly competitive insurance market and a constantly evolving regulatory landscape, this reappointment underscores the organization's commitment to maintaining stability within its top-tier leadership.

With the next term set to commence in September 2026, this extension provides the clear leadership vision necessary for HDFC Life to continue driving forward its growth strategies.
