Retail inflation for industrial workers ease marginally to 6.91% in August

The All-India consumer price index for industrial workers (CPI-IW) in August eased to 6.91 per cent from 7.54 per cent in July this year mainly due to lower prices of certain food items, the Ministry of Labour and Employment data stated. Food inflation stood at 10.06 per cent in August against 11.87 per cent in the previous month and 6.46 per cent during the corresponding month a year ago.
